Support innovative, evidence-based resources that strengthen men’s mental health and relationship wellbeing. UBC’s Men’s Health Research Program at the School of Nursing is a global leader in translating research into practical tools that help men navigate relationship challenges, mental health pressures and the masculine expectations that shape their emotional lives. Donor support helps ensure research is accessible to men in real-world ways.

Drawing on studies conducted across Canada and internationally, the program is developing a series of interactive educational videos that translate evidence into scenario-based practical learnings. Research shows that relationship breakdown is a significant risk factor for psychological distress, loneliness and suicidal ideation among men. These resources help men navigate break-ups, communicate effectively, seek support, build equitable partnerships and strengthen emotional regulation skills, with the goal of reducing their mental health risk and preventing crisis.

The videos also equip service providers with knowledge and tools to support men during vulnerable moments and strategies for preventing relationship harm. Your gift will help produce and share these free, evidence-based resources, reaching thousands of men and service providers and reducing barriers to support.
