Heather McCaw

As the Winter session comes to a close, I want to thank each of you for being part of our amazing community of donors. Your support has had a profound impact on more than 70,000 students at our Vancouver and Okanagan campuses. Your generosity helps ensure our best and brightest students are recognized and that no eligible student is denied a transformative UBC education due to financial barriers.

Donors are pivotal in enabling students to embark on their journeys, which often begin with a big dream at a young age. Awards relieve financial worry, allowing students to pursue academic excellence, fully immerse themselves in our dynamic community and be inspired to create a better world for us all.

As we look to the future, continued funding is vital to ensure that every qualified student can attend UBC regardless of their financial circumstances. We are deeply grateful for your generosity and invite you to continue supporting the potential of these promising young students. Together, we can change students’ lives.

FORWARD for Students Affordability Initiative

FORWARD for Students
Affordability Initiative

You can help UBC students thrive, not just survive.

Affordability is the greatest challenge facing students today. Housing, transportation and food insecurity create real barriers to student success. Today, many UBC students must work multiple jobs to balance costs of textbooks and nutritious meals. Students shouldn’t have to choose between their education and their wellbeing.

UBC is committed to ensuring that financial need alone will not be a barrier for any eligible student to receive an education. The FORWARD for Students Affordability Initiative will help students on both UBC campuses by providing them with support in the areas where they need it most. Our goal is to raise $100 million to help students who are coping with the ever-rising cost of living.

You can make a difference today in the student affordability crisis. Contact us for more information on how you can join us in this important initiative or visit GIVE NOW to donate.
