Message from the president
I start this message on a personal note by letting you know that I will be leaving UBC in the fall as I have taken on the role of President at the University of Michigan. I am incredibly proud of the vision and generosity of the UBC donor community, and it has been a pleasure to be a part of it over the past six years. I am continually amazed to witness the power of donors to change lives at UBC. Thank you. Your generosity exceeded all expectations this past year.
Two milestones stand out for me. First of all, donors like you gave over $227 million to support UBC, the most we have ever raised in a year. And second, in March, we wrapped up the Blue & Gold Campaign for Students, which started in 2017, with over $211 million having been donated to support our talented students. These incredible results are because of you. And, you keep surprising us! On April 6, the UBC community came together for Giving Day and gave over $610,000 to a variety of priority projects!
Because of donors like you, we have laid the foundation for tomorrow’s leaders to build a better world. Our gratitude to you is immeasurable. I hope you enjoy reading the following stories and learning about the incredible difference that you and donors like you make possible every day at UBC. I shall forever be proud of what we have accomplished together.
