About Brent Bampton
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother and friend.
In his early years Brent was a fun loving, carefree kid with an infectious smile. He always had a passion for and excelled at sports that continued into his teenage years, which included street hockey and baseball. Later in life he played on a roller hockey team through work which he absolutely loved.
Brent was a kind, caring, and sensitive person with a big heart. He would always be there for you if you needed him, and often put others’ needs before his own.
After his father suffered a stroke in 2011, Brent stepped up and was a big source of support to both of his parents, and would do things around the house to make life easier for them. His parents enjoyed having him live at home with them as he provided company, comfort, and cooked breakfast for them on the weekends which they thoroughly enjoyed.
Brent was the kind of person who got along with everyone, made others feel welcomed, and had a big impact on those around him. He had an amazing sense of humour, loved making people laugh, and was always cracking jokes, singing songs, and being silly.
Brent always cared for others more than he cared for himself. He struggled with his mental health and kept quiet about it, often telling family and friends who worried about him that he was fine and not to worry about him.
Please reach out to those you love and care about to check-in as you never know who is struggling alone. By doing so, hopefully we can break the stigma and silence around men’s mental health and encourage men to reach out for help.
His family wants Brent to be remembered for the fun, loving, caring, kind, and funny guy that they knew and not be defined by his struggles as he was much more than that.
Brent was loved very much and touched everyone he came into contact with even if it was brief. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten and always in our hearts.
