Anyone that knew Harvey knew how dedicated he was to his education. Harvey exemplified his passion for education by continuously exceeding the goals he set for himself. He also inspired and encouraged others in his network to continuously challenge themselves and to pursue further education. He attended LA Matheson Secondary School in Surrey, British Columbia, then enrolled at the University of British Columbia with the goal of obtaining his designation as a civil engineer. Harvey completed three years of the civil engineering program, as well as two co-op placements. He had a great relationship with his peers and professors, and made a substantial impact on everyone he crossed paths with.

To memorialize Harvey’s passion for education, his friends and family will be establishing the Harvey Sohi Fund in Civil Engineering. Your gift will pay tribute to Harvey’s life by supporting students following in his footsteps at UBC. Final decisions on the award description and student eligibility will be made in consultation with the family.
