The Powerhouse Project

As we adapt to the continuously evolving business landscape, we know that to do more we will need to be more—and there is no time to waste. The $120-million Powerhouse Project will make space for the transformative future of business education in Canada. Located next to UBC Sauder’s current facilities at the site of the original UBC Power House, this new flagship building will provide our growing population with versatile spaces, progressive programming and opportunities for learning, research and community engagement consistent with our position as one of the world’s finest business schools.

Society is changing. Business is changing. So are we.

This is not just about more space, it’s about different space. The Powerhouse Project will connect UBC Sauder with other faculties and local and global partners to catalyze collaboration, innovation and community. Students will be challenged to expand their theoretical understanding of business into real-life application through a stronger focus on experiential learning and connections with industry. The new building will also serve as the axis of a growing cluster of innovation spaces throughout campus.

We acknowledge that the UBC Vancouver campus is situated within the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam people). Through thoughtful design and consultation, this expansion will offer barrier-free learning, cultural, service and social spaces that honour the dignity of all people.
