About Scott McKercher
Scott was born in Vancouver and lived the majority of his life in Maple Ridge, B.C. He passed away suddenly on January 12, 2022 at the age of 39.
Scott was a talented athlete who excelled at baseball, hockey and golf. Over the past decade he could often be found at Eighteen Pastures Golf Course and developed a deep love for the game of golf. He was also a gifted poker player, competing in World Series poker tournaments in Las Vegas.
He was a hard worker, spending nearly 20 years in construction as a framer. Scott was a quiet man who few got the honour to truly know. He was kind and generous and cared deeply for his family and friends. He loved animals and always showed great care and compassion to his pets.

Scott lived with lifelong social anxiety that weighed heavily on him in his adulthood. When he took his own life, he took with him a piece of our hearts and he is missed deeply by many. He would not want anyone to suffer from his passing or for others to face the struggles he did.
In Scott’s memory, his friends and family will be hosting an annual golf tournament to raise much-needed funds and awareness for men’s mental health. By donating to Scott’s page, you will be supporting HeadsUpGuys and others who are struggling with their mental health. HeadsUpGuys is an online resource specifically designed for men and their families, to prevent the continued erosion of men’s mental health and death by suicide.
