Norah Gibson passed away peacefully on February 20, 2019 in her 91st year. She is survived by Sam, her husband of the past 67 years.

Norah will be remembered for many things including her love for nature, flowers and for being a Friend of the Garden (FOG), a valued volunteer for UBC Botanical Garden. Norah really enjoyed the fellowship with other FOGs. Her amazing memory for all the botanical plant names, a result of her university studies in botany and Latin, alongside her medical training, came in handy when it came to cataloguing plants in the garden.

In Norah’s memory, the Norah Gibson Memorial Fund has been established at UBC. Your gift will support the mission of UBC Botanical Garden through education, research, conservation and public display.
