About Dorina Palmer
With great sadness and a profound sense of loss, that we announce the passing of Dorina Palmer after her short battle with CJD on Thursday, April 18, 2019.
Sixty years ago Dorina left her home in Northern Ireland to start a new life with Gerry in Vancouver. In the home, on the boat, and in the garden, she worked tirelessly to make Vancouver her home and to bring warmth, joy and creativity into the lives of her family and friends and plenty of dogs. With the calligraphy pen, paint brush, garden trowel, recipe book or knitting needles she touched so many. She will be long remembered for her ready laughter, delicious cookies, and wonderful recipes by her children Alison and Patrick (Roma) and her grandchildren Taylor, Connor, and Evan. Her friends will remember raucous singing at parties and quiet reflection on serene tours through her garden.
Dorina loved her long association with UBC Botanical Garden and the Friends of the Garden (FOGs). She leaves behind so many dear friends and treasured memories from her time with the FOGs.
