Al and Rhoda were lifelong friends of my parents, Gord and Beth Hughes. Al and Gord met in India and were roommates while attending UBC after the war. Gord was out with Al the night he met Rhoda, and he and my mother were thrilled when the Boggies joined them in Vernon after Al completed medical school. Here are the four of them in 1992, along with Gordon & Margaret Anderson and Betty Pierce.
"The friend of man, the friend of truth; The friend of age, and guide of youth: Few heads like his, with virtue warm'd, Few heads with knowledge so inform'd: If there's another world, he lives in bliss; If there is none, he made the best of this." — Robert Burns
The day we met Dr. Boggie…special in so many ways!!
A rock in so many lives. He and Rhoda walked through my family’s lives in so many ways too many to recount. A nice family tribute here and a great cause for the rural medical candidates.
