Max instructed me on proper ski waxing during one of my initial cross country skiing adventures. This occurred at least 25 years ago, in his hometown of Hayesville. A lesson I greatly appreciated Lol Evelyn, I enjoyed our conversation at Max's Celebration. You are a very interesting, intelligent and caring person who I am so glad I got to meet. Hopefully we will meet again.
My Condolences to the Family of Max Carroll Max was a special person - a school leader who was always supportive and made a real difference in the lives of others. Max cared deeply for his family, friends, colleagues & children at all his schools. He was always a generous host at lunches & dinners. Max shared great stories and was an amazing cook. I'm thankful that our paths in life crossed. Rest in Peace Max!
Mr. Carroll was one of the best principals I’ve ever known and had the privilege of working for. He inspired, encouraged and supported me every step in my career. Even today as I do my work as a principal there is not a day that goes by that he is not far as the many guiding principles that he instilled in me are utilized. He had an amazing heart and I will always remember him. My only regret, but now a life lesson, is that staying in touch with those you adore is so important - you don’t want to miss out on telling someone just how impactful, appreciated and find you are of them. Mr. Carroll, you were a big part of my life! Thank you for being you and all that you did. You will always be in my thoughts.
Max hired me in Richmond at the beginning of my second career. We subsequently discovered that his wife and my father worked together and had a good laugh about it. He was a pleasure to work with and had a great sense of humour. In later years I met him a few times in Costco and we had lively catch ups. Condolences to his wife. He will be missed and fondly remembered.
