About Ming Leung
Ming Leung graduated from UBC in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation. She had a long and distinguished career as a physiotherapist, with a passion in geriatrics, and falls and injury prevention. She embodied the philosophy of person-centered care and integrated it into her practice, working closely with healthcare workers from all disciplines and the client’s families.
In addition to Ming’s clinical work, she found time to support several research projects and obtained her Master of Science in 2012 from SFU. Throughout her career she also provided numerous students with placement opportunities, and was a mentor to those keen on pursuing a career in physiotherapy. To sustain Ming’s passion for nurturing strong future leaders in physiotherapy, Ming’s family has established the Ming Leung Memorial fund to support students following in her footsteps at UBC.
