David McLean, OBC

On behalf of the entire UBC Development and Alumni Engagement team, it is with great sadness that we learned of the recent passing of David McLean, OBC, LLD ’94, a distinguished business leader and long-time friend of UBC. David will be remembered for his deep commitment to the community and exemplary leadership. For over four decades, David and his family’s extraordinary contributions to disciplines across campus have empowered students and provided transformational opportunities. Beyond his philanthropy, he served as the chair of the Board of Governors, making a significant impact on the university’s trajectory of success. He was presented with an Honorary Alumni Award by alumni UBC in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the university. David’s unwavering support of UBC has left an indelible mark on UBC. His legacy of foresight and leadership will forever be remembered with gratitude. We join President Benoit-Antoine Bacon in offering our heartfelt condolences to Brenda and the McLean family.
