St. John's College

Inspired by our founders, the alumni of St. John’s University Shanghai, St. John’s College seeks to nurture global citizens who embody the values of generosity, justice, academic excellence and service to society.

At the core of life at St. John’s are events that bring the “the world around our table.” This sense of community is central to our goal of inspiring a global vision among our residents, our alumni, and all those who participate in our programs and activities. Regularly-organized talks and forums on current events build upon the college’s international diversity as well as UBC’s global scholarly expertise. Social and community building events provide opportunities for the new generation of Johanneans to learn from each other in even deeper ways. Drawing upon the strong bonds of trust and communication developed within the St. John’s community, fellows and guests are able to discuss difficult, often contentious, issues in an atmosphere of mutual respect in which everyone listens to and learns from each other.

These timeless traditions define the St. John’s experience and prepare Johanneans to contribute as global citizens wherever their futures take them.
