With your support, UBC can lead the way in mental health with programming, research and community engagement geared towards mental health and wellbeing. Projects include the Gateway Health Building, a one-stop shop for everything from primary care to fitness and nutrition programs; Recreation Centre North and the Okanagan Recreation Centre, which offer sports and wellness opportunities; and faculty-based initiatives that create a more compassionate and supportive learning environment.
An estimated one in eight people worldwide are living with mental health issues. Anxiety, depression, substance use and lack of activity threaten students’ learning capacity, academic performance and general wellbeing.
UBC is prioritizing mental health and wellbeing with a bold vision to make supports and services part of our campus culture. From counselling integrated within faculties and residences, to infrastructure changes and programs tailored to individual needs, our approach is broad, inclusive and proactive.
Your gift will support priority areas that help improve quality of life, empower students to reach their full potential, reduce stigma and create a better future for us all.
