Gift and Estate Planning

For professional advisors

Why should my clients consider donating to UBC in their estate?

When it comes to philanthropy, many individuals often feel lost amidst the multiple organizations, unsure of which truly align with their aspirations and values. Now add on planning for your estate and your legacy after death. How can you be sure to pick something that you can be sure will still be around for years beyond you, still pursuing what’s important to you, and still be aligned with what you value?

Envision a charity that spans almost every cause one could think of, is globally recognized for their work, and will stand the test of time. And now, consider that UBC, a non-profit, stands as that expansive platform. We are educating the leaders of the next generation in fields from opera to forestry, and conducting leading research on everything from brain health to climate change to public policy reform. We’ve been doing it for more than 100 years, and we will be here for 100 more—and beyond.

By introducing your clients to the vast realm of possibilities that UBC offers to them and their estate, you can assist them in their philanthropic journey and ensure they establish an estate legacy they are confident in.

Beyond the bequest: How can my client give to UBC?

UBC accepts all kinds of charitable gifts from estates, from bequests to CRTs. We are experts in working on both simple and complex estates, ensuring we can meet your client’s particular needs, whether that’s reducing their taxes, increasing their current income, increasing their heirs’ inheritance, or creating a personal or family legacy.

We would be happy to discuss options with you that work for your client. Please get in touch with any of us to find out more.

What can my client give to at UBC?

Almost anything! One of UBC’s greatest strengths is our massive platform. From student awards to cancer research, from legal reform to food security, we have a program that will suit your client.

This can also mean finding the right fit for your client is daunting. We can assist with finding the right philanthropic match and help with will wording to ensure your client’s wishes can be easily enacted once their estate is settled and their legacy is as they envisioned. Learn more here.
