Support innovation in food technology research, teaching and collaboration, from farm to fork

UBC’s new Food and Beverage Innovation Centre—a first of its kind in BC and Western Canada—will address urgent issues of how to responsibly process and sustainably package nutritious food.

Centrally located in the UBC Vancouver campus’s health district, the new Food and Beverage Innovation Centre will comprise 8,000 to 10,000 square feet of space, including laboratories and workshops dedicated to pre-processing, novel equipment, fermentation, and packaging, as well as quality assurance and analysis.

This new state-of-the-art facility will allow students, food scientists, and local industry to collaborate on finding solutions about the future of our food supply. It will provide in-house entrepreneurial opportunities for the BC community, and, through training opportunities, will increase the local availability of food processing experts in the province.

The research undertaken, educations received, and partnerships formed within its walls will ensure that the centre can act as a catalyst, creating healthy, value-added food products and enabling agri-food businesses in BC to grow and thrive.

Give today and help launch BC as a leader in food processing advancements and sustainable food practices for the long term.
