The UBC AI and Health Network brings together scientists, clinicians and health partners and builds capacity for interdisciplinary research that tackles real-world healthcare challenges to improve patient and community health.
To maximize our impact, we are focused on our strengths.
UBC is leading the way in using AI tools to solve real healthcare challenges—turning vast amounts of data into valuable insights that help us prevent, diagnose, and treat many diseases more effectively. We’ve built strong, trusting relationships with our healthcare partners, allowing us to securely share important patient data while always protecting privacy. By using anonymized health data from BC’s 5.6 million residents, our network is developing powerful AI tools that will improve care for many different communities in BC and across Canada.
At launch, the network’s research teams will use AI to advance two areas: 1) clinical practice and patient experiences, and 2) biomedical innovation and turning research into real-world treatments.
Alongside this work, the network will strengthen data-sharing and privacy protections, help patients and providers understand and adopt AI in healthcare, and expand education and training in science, technology, engineering, math, and health.
Philanthropy launched the UBC AI and Health Network—your support will help it grow. With your gift, we can connect more experts across disciplines, accelerate impactful projects and scale innovations to benefit more people.
Together, we will build a healthier future powered by AI.
