The Film Program and Equipment Fund helps Film Production students access essential equipment, bursaries, and festival submission fees so they can create professional-quality work and gain meaningful, real-world experience.

As equipment costs continue to rise, many students face barriers to accessing the tools they need. Up-to-date cameras, editing software, and sound gear are essential for hands-on learning in an industry defined by rapidly evolving technology.

This fund is already making a difference. It has supported students in submitting their films to festivals, including alumni whose work has screened at VIFF, and strengthened student-led initiatives such as the POV Film Festival at the Rio Theatre. For many students, this support is the difference between having an idea and being able to bring it to the screen.
