To improve the quality of life for older adults, we must listen to the experiences of residents and staff in long-term care and strive to understand how to make this chapter of older adults’ lives a joyful part of their journey.
Your gift to UBC will support a dedicated research team with passion for seniors’ care that is centred on patients, residents of long-term care facilities and their families. By asking questions that matter, the research team can evaluate senior care systems and spark real-world change.
This research is led by Dr. Amy Salmon, Clinical Associate Professor in the UBC Faculty of Medicine’s School of Population and Public Health and Associate Director of the Centre for Advancing Health Outcomes. As the inaugural Conconi Family Foundation Distinguished Scholar in Seniors Care, Dr. Salmon will bring people together from across the province to focus on transforming health care for seniors in BC.
The Conconi Family Foundation Distinguished Scholar in Seniors Care aims to ensure older adults and their families and communities are at the centre of health care decision-making. Dr. Salmon’s research objective is to design, implement, and evaluate new programs that address the needs and priorities of older adults.
Your donation today can make a difference in how seniors are cared for here in BC and across Canada. Your gift will directly fund leadership and research driven by questions that matter. Together, we can create systems that provide better care for seniors now, and for generations to come.
